The Early Years

Before women riders were a movement, Gevin was already on the road.

A Life Lived on Her Own Terms

Some people follow the road. Others make their own.

Gevin Fax has spent more than five decades doing just that.

A Black woman of Dakota heritage, a musician, performer, motorcycle pioneer, and storyteller, Gevin has never been one to fit neatly into anyone else's expectations.

Growing up in Los Angeles during the 1960s, she learned early that the world wasn't always welcoming to those who dared to be different. But rather than let convention define her, she built a life around music, motorcycles, freedom, and the courage to be herself.

Her story isn't about following trends. It's about living before the world caught up.

Music Was the Beginning

Music Was the Beginning

Gevin picked up a guitar at 13, discovering a passion that would carry her from coffeehouses and ski lodges to some of Hollywood's most legendary stages.

After attending college in Ohio, she returned to Los Angeles, where she performed with her band Galadriel at iconic venues including the Whisky a Go Go and The Troubadour.

Her musical journey eventually led her to MCA recording artists KLYMAXX, performing on national television, appearing in music videos on MTV and VH1, and contributing to the album The Maxx Is Back.

Music wasn't simply a career. It was another way to tell her story.

Born to Ride. Never to Follow.

Born to Ride. Never to Follow.

Long before women riders became a celebrated movement, Gevin was already putting miles behind her.

A pioneering Black woman in American motorcycle culture, Gevin's riding history includes her groundbreaking journey to Sturgis, challenging expectations of who belonged in the motorcycle world.

Her love of motorcycles brought her to television in the Turner Broadcasting documentary Biker Women, following her across the country on her Harley-Davidson while combining two lifelong passions: riding and performing.

Her story has also appeared in major publications, and her life on two wheels continues to inspire riders across generations.

More Than the Miles

Community

More Than the Miles

Through film, television, music, and motorcycle culture, Gevin has built something greater than a collection of accomplishments.

She's built connections.

Her participation in The Litas, featured in a documentary by Stept Studios, reflects the importance of finding community, acceptance, and belonging without sacrificing individuality.

That same spirit lives in On The Mountain with Gevin Fax, bringing women together through motorcycles, music, nature, friendship, and shared experiences.

The Road Continues

Legacy

The Road Continues

Gevin's story is still being written.

She's an artist, an adventurer, a woman of conviction, and an original who has never needed permission to be herself.

Her legacy isn't simply where she's been or what she's accomplished.

It's the freedom she's claimed, the barriers she's challenged, and the people she's inspired along the way.
